====== -state_directory ======

Specifies a single directory where [[mess:files:sta|save state]] files are stored. Save state files are read and written either upon user request, or when using the ''[[mess:mess.ini:autosave|-autosave]]'' option.

The default is **''sta''** (that is, a directory ''sta'' in the same directory as the MESS executable).

If this directory does not exist, it will be automatically created.
