DISCLAIMER: This is a temporary page. Eventually, information from this page on not working games will be used to create, compile and update a software list for the Nintendo SNES / Super Famicom and its related consoles for MESS.

NOTE: If you add a bug report, please state exactly what is wrong and how it differs from expected behavior. Add a screen shot to illustrate the graphic issues, an audio attachment for sound issues. It's also important to state what SVN revision number or MESS version you are using to replicate the bug as well as the system in MESS you are using. Please keep the list alphabetical, if possible, so finding bugs entered will be easier.

A few comments about the last two: Tengai Makyou Zero lacks proper RTC emulation, hence it fails RTC tests and cannot start; SD Gundam GX partially works but suffers of incomplete DSP3 emulation like in all the other emulators

  • Gamars Puzzle (Unl) - Sound for a short time, black screen throughout (GoodTools only)
  • Pokemon Stadium (World) (Unl) - Hang
  • Pop'n Twinbee (J) (Sample) [!] - This is actually a bad dump, dumped as hirom when it's actually a lorom.
  • Super X-Terminator 2 Sasuke (Japan) (Unl) ← bad dump? BSNES doesn't work either with this
  • Accele Bird - Hangs soon after the two drones exits from the screen, due of a flaw in its code it jumps to 8260d2 that is reserved address. It probably needs open bus DIRECTLY supported by the CPU core.
  • Act Raiser (U) - Sound issues SRAM issues
  • Aging Cassette - Errors on EXT LATCH and APU (64), OBJ L OVER also fails if you fast forward the emulation.
  • Area 88 / U.N Squadron (REGRESS) - Hang
  • Battletoads & Double Dragon - The Ultimate Team - Hang after RARE Logo (REGRESS)
  • Best of the Best / Super Kick Boxing - Background graphic completely gone again (REGRESS)
  • Bishoujo Janshi Suchie-Pai - mode 5 girls are still offset to the left. [I think I know what is needed by this, but I still haven't found the proper fix]
  • Bronkie the Bronchiasaurus - Hang after “Wave Quest” screen (REGRESS)
  • Bugs Bunny - Rabbit Rampage - there are graphic bugs at the beginning of the first level
  • Chibi Maruko-chan - Harikiri 365-nichi no Maki (Japan) - Hang after Epoch screen (REGRESS)
  • Choplifter III - Rescue & Survive - Graphic Layer Issues
  • Clay Fighter - Audio is bugged and can cause hang during introduction. Graphic issues during map screen (horizontal stripes)
  • Clay Fighter 2 - Judgment Clay - Hangs at random times (during intro, after a battle) (REGRESS)
  • Clockwerx (J) (REGRESS) - Hang
  • Cool Spot - Graphics mess at foot of Cool Spot (REGRESS)
  • Cosmo Police Galivan II - Arrow of Justice (Japan) - slight flickering at the top while character is being moved (REGRESS)
  • Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions - scroll flicker that isn't caused by timings, heretical_one says hirq?
  • Dead Dance / Tuff E Nuff - Graphic glitches when scrolling the fighter selection menu through all the available fighters forward/backward. (REGRESS)
  • Derby Stallion 96 (Japan) ← BS-X slotted game?
  • Desert Fighter (J) - Heavy Flicker/massive display issues. They abuses the gfx mode changes and the window / blending capabilities.
  • F-1 Grand Prix Part 3 - Heavy Flicker/massive display issues. They abuses the gfx mode changes and the window / blending capabilities.
  • Full Throttle - All-American Racing - Graphic issues in game, first noticed during intro
  • Fushigi no Dungeon 2 - The score table has incorrect graphics
  • Ghost Chaser Densei - GFX glitches during gameplay (e.g. below the status bar)
  • Hanguk Pro Yagu (Korea)/ Korean League - Hang
  • Home Alone - Hang quickly after displaying in-game screen, music continues playing.
  • Ikari no Yousai (J) (garbage after beating the first boss, known to happen on a SNES PAL with JP cartridge too)
  • Illusion of Gaia (U)/ Gaia Gensouki (J) / Illusion of Time (E) - Sound not working correctly
  • Ippatsu Gyakuten - During introduction, near the top of the screen during the bike race there is a camera which 'follows' the action. It shouldn't move. (REGRESS)
  • Jungle Strike - slow graphics and insane flickering
  • Kaite Tsukutte Asoberu Dezaemon - Graphics missing and incorrect throughout.
  • Kawasaki Superbike Challenge - Audio, but no graphics/hang (REGRESS)
  • Kishin Douji Zenki - Tenchi Meidou - Incorrect strips of graphics are present @ Title
  • Lemmings 2 - The Tribes - There seem to be a whole missing layer of graphics, making the game unplayable/flickering
  • Live A Live (J) - After START @ Title Screen, hang with sound (REGRESS)
  • Mario Paint (JU) - Refine mouse controls.
  • Mouryou Senki Madara 2 - gap in the text? vshift bug maybe? (H)DMA?
  • NFL Quarterback Club - @ Title, strips of bad graphics (REGRESS)
  • NHL Stanley Cup (U) [!] / Super Hockey (E) (REGRESS) - Hang
  • Onita Atsushi FMV (J) - The ring graphics flickers, similarly to Daffy Duck
  • Otogirisou (Japan) - Hang after Chun Soft Logo, music continues playing for a bit. (REGRESS)

  • PGA Tour Golf (Japan) - Hang in intro after Electronic Arts (R), music continues playing. (REGRESS)
  • Popeye - Ijiwaru Majo Sea Hag no Maki - Random hangs when entering or exiting a level after the “BLOW ME DOWN” title zooms in or out.
  • Popful Mail (J) (REGRESS) - Hang
  • Primal Rage - Hangs/Black screen when starting to display the Title. (REGRESS)

  • Puzzle Bobble / Bust-A-Move - Sometimes graphics slightly oscillates in challenge mode (mode 4 opt related?).
  • Raiden Trad/Densetsu - corruption @ Title screen (REGRESS)
  • Redline F-1 Racer / Suzuki Aguri no F-1 Super Driving - During intro, when the camera rotates around the car, there are strips of bad graphics. (REGRESS)
  • Rendering Ranger R2 (J) - Hang
  • Ring ni Kakero (POST) - Various graphic issues during intro
  • Rise of the Robots - corruption @ Title screen (REGRESS)
  • Rival Turf / Rushing Beat - Occasional flashing screenwide while playing.
  • Robocop 3 - Enemies don't get drawn (see http://mametesters.org/view.php?id=3398)
  • Rocketeer, The (U) - corruption @ Title screen (REGRESS)
  • Rudra no Hihou - any time a dialogue window appears, OAM graphics disappears and BG graphics shifts
  • Saturday Night Slam Masters - Corrupt sprites (foreground crowd, wrestlers, referee)

  • Shinri Game, The - Akuma no Kokoroji (J) - might be an issue with title - is it supposed to be rain/mist? [KALE: I think this is an issue with DMA / HDMA, text is missing after the title screen, and I'm aware that's controlled by HDMA too.]
  • Sonic Blast Man - Animation when dizzy has graphic artifacts, strip of graphics out of place shortly after start
  • Soul Blazer (U)/ Soul Blader (J) - Sound is bugged
  • Sound Novel Tsukuru (J) ← BS-X slotted game?
  • Strike Gunner S.T.G - Flickering “Strike Gunner” Title. In-Game Sprite problem (ships scrolling in enter half complete) (REGRESS)
  • Sugoi Hebereke (Japan) - The first arena has a fog/haze and the characters are being colored/palleted incorrectly.
  • Super Bases Loaded II / Super 3D Baseball - Hang
  • Super Battleship (REGRESS) - Hang
  • Super Cup Soccer (J) / Super Goal! (E) - Jaleco Logo section is unusually slow in rendering.
  • Super Drift Out - SRAM doesn't initialize properly, all times are 0'00”00
  • Super Goal!/Super Cup Soccer - Slow CPU execution
  • Super F1 Circus (J) / Super F1 Circus Limited (J) - title screen has corrupted gfxs
  • Super Mario World: Stage 1 boss background is (still) broken, uses mode 7
  • Super Offroad the Baja - Heavy Flicker/massive display issues. They abuses the gfx mode changes and the window / blending capabilities.
  • Super Punch-Out! - when KO counter appears, a graphics layer shifts to the right overlapping screen border (both counter number and energy bars), effective 04/08/2010 build - Game Hangs after Gabby Jay Intro screen.

  • Super Valis IV (U) (POST) - Hang
  • Syvalion - jerky scrolling bug with the background, wasn't like this some months ago hence it should be a (rather old) regression.
  • T2 - The Arcade Game (U) - flickering line near center during T2 Title (REGRESS)
  • Tales of Phantasia (J) - No Sound
  • Tecmo Super Bowl (Beta) - Hang
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters - When you perform a special move (for example, for Leonardo - Down+Down+Forward+Forward+Punch - Shining Cutter), the screen goes completely blank for at least 1 frame.
  • Theme Park (E) [!] - No proper menu background and more. (DMA issue, uninitialized VRAM memory?)
  • Top Gear 3000 / Planets Champ TG 3000 - after the selection screen the game temporarily freezes (timing issue); when it restart and goes to the race, graphics is completely broken
  • Toy Story: After beating the first boss, the stars that falls from the enemy aren't shown
  • Trinea (Japan) - Initial logo has stripes missing (REGRESS)
  • Warlock - Trimark screen flash corruption (REGRESS)
  • Wordtris - Hangs after introduction splash information + Inputs broken
  • Ys V - flickering screen after game starts (REGRESS)
  • Young Merlin (U) - hang/black screen after hitting start @ title (REGRESS)
